I am AndreaCue, and this is my site.
This place came about as a means of self-expression, storytelling, and reveling in the shared experience of the human condition.
Naturally we understand that truth is often subjective, rarely universal, and a tricky bugger to pin down. Story, truth, and authenticity blend and what comes of that is what happens here.
I tell my stories by way of sharing what I'm living. I'll tell you of my adventures and I might even tell you about the people who factor into those experiences, but my intention is not to dishonor or exploit. I change names and stretch circumstances out of respect when that seems like the right thing to do.
As for myself, I hold a MotherFuckingAuthorship in creative writing. I worked in publishing for three years as an undergraduate intern (literary magazine & newspaper), for three years as a graduate student (teaching & producing), and for three years post-grad (publishing house, literary scouting agency, & editorial). For the past three years I've lived an amalgamous path: teaching, editing, caretaking, nannying, and assisting. Right now I teach, tutor, edit, and work for some wonderful people in the Philadelphia area. Life is good.
When not doing those things, I thoroughly enjoy martial arts training, yoga practice, hiking in the woods, traveling whenever possible, embarking on surprising adventures, steeping myself in music, dancing wildly, writing in coffee houses, and chasing the dachshund around the house. I am also a big fan of challenging myself to greater depths of understanding. This keeps life interesting much of the time.
Though there's much that will go unsaid, what I can tell you is that I'm out here in the world, same as you, figuring it all out a day at a time. How heartening to know that we're all in this together.
